NX CAM 3 Axis Machining

NX CAM provides a wide range of capabilities in 3-axis machining ranging from manual tool-path creation and editing to fully automated Feature Based Machining.
The programming flexibility extends to a comprehensive set of roughing and finishing options that can be applied to any type of input geometry.

Specialized cutting patterns and optimized machining parameters that control tool loading and create a high quality finish can be a part of your 
High Speed Machining strategy, maximizing the value of investments in high productivity machine tools.

 2-1/2 axis roughing patterns can be applied based on basic boundary data or they can take full advantage of available solid geometry. Zigzag, offset, plunge milling, trochoidal patterns are examples of the patterns provided.

Face milling can be accomplished with simple boundaries, or it can leverage all the additional information of the solid model. The system provides automatic collision detection for tool and holder.

 Z-level finishing operations are utilized for the cleanest surface finish. These routines maximize continuous tool to material contact to achieve a consistent stock finish.

NX CAM offers a high degree of automation for the programming of prismatic features (pockets, slots, planar faces) and holemaking through its Feature Based Machining
options.
